Donna,
This is the 19th book that I've read by this author。 I truly enjoy the way Jeffrey Archer writes his stories。 He is usually always a solid 4 stars for me。 Some of his short stories have been 3 stars, but I will read what ever he writes。This book is #3 in the Detective William Warwick series。 I love the characters。 I feel like I have watched them grow up。。。 because I have from other books by this author。 I love the banter。 I love the intricate plots。 The author can juggle several balls at once wi This is the 19th book that I've read by this author。 I truly enjoy the way Jeffrey Archer writes his stories。 He is usually always a solid 4 stars for me。 Some of his short stories have been 3 stars, but I will read what ever he writes。This book is #3 in the Detective William Warwick series。 I love the characters。 I feel like I have watched them grow up。。。 because I have from other books by this author。 I love the banter。 I love the intricate plots。 The author can juggle several balls at once without a hitch。 This had some drawn out scenes set in the courtroom。 I liked that and I'm always amazed at how different the court system is in England because some of that wouldn't fly on Law & Order。The beginning felt a little slow to start and it took a bit of time to settle into。 However, once it got rolling, it was a treat。 Maybe this one wasn't quite 4 stars for me, but I certainly don't mind rounding up for the characters and my overall enjoyment of the story line。 So 4 stars。 。。。more
Rajesh,
Such a disappointing book。 The story line is thin and stretched taut to the point of breaking。 The Miles Faulkner saga has gone from incredulous to ridiculous。 Rashidi tale ended in a pathetic manner the protagonist and his team must be really incompetent to have weak cases in court time after time。 Not looking forward to book 4。

3rd installment of Wm。 Warwick series。 (2nd in series was the capturing art thief …“Trojan Horse”) and uncovering the corrupt officers involved。 This installment begins when William goes to his boss, HAWKSBY, (the “HAWK” to his men) to hand in his resignation, but ends up with promotion as new under cover leader, choosing his own team (REBECCA & NICKY who proved themselves on “Trojan Horse” case, among others he trusts。 Stolen art was recovered)。 Determined to continue to uncover more dirty dete 3rd installment of Wm。 Warwick series。 (2nd in series was the capturing art thief …“Trojan Horse”) and uncovering the corrupt officers involved。 This installment begins when William goes to his boss, HAWKSBY, (the “HAWK” to his men) to hand in his resignation, but ends up with promotion as new under cover leader, choosing his own team (REBECCA & NICKY who proved themselves on “Trojan Horse” case, among others he trusts。 Stolen art was recovered)。 Determined to continue to uncover more dirty detectives and clean “house” of those who turn a blind eye to crimes。 Naturally, he’ll solve big crime/s along the way。 Christina is now the wealthy widow of art thief cum financier, Miles Faulkner; and is close friend of Warwick’s wife BETH。 QC, Booth Watson was deceased art thief's (etc) attorney (also compromised, but unproved)。 SPOILER: Christine has been lying to everyone, including BFF Beth & Wm Warwick about her husband being dead (a lie sustained in this installment, he’s now in disguise as her new beau (with extensive plastic surgery), and about selling all the art she supposedly inherited。 We’ll return to that tale。 Det Summer resigned to avoid investigation into current drug case and was unholy witness at trial to convict big drug dealer in this story)。 Can you imagine Nicky falling for a crooked cop, and a known “player” besides, to gum up this important innvestigation? In court, Defense Attorney misquotes CONGREVE’s “a woman scorned…” and prosecution in closing corrects it with “Banquo’s ghost doesn’t answer any of Mcbeth’s questions…” just as Summer never answers anyone’s questions。 This installment ends with convenient, albeit sad, event。 And another promotion for William Warwick to clear up further crimes where he can “clean up” issues remaining from the first 3 installments。 。。。more
Karen R,
This is the third book in the William Warwick Series written by Jeffery Archer which chronicles Warwick's rise at Scotland Yard and battles with some old adversaries as well as new ones。 He is now assigned to investigate corruption in the ranks of his fellow officers。 A fast read with plenty of courtroom interplay with a familiar adversary。 One of my favorite author series and I look forward to Archer’s next installment。 This is the third book in the William Warwick Series written by Jeffery Archer which chronicles Warwick's rise at Scotland Yard and battles with some old adversaries as well as new ones。 He is now assigned to investigate corruption in the ranks of his fellow officers。 A fast read with plenty of courtroom interplay with a familiar adversary。 One of my favorite author series and I look forward to Archer’s next installment。 。。。more
Karen,
。This book was gripping from the start。 You have William Warrich who has worked his way up and recently promoted to Detective Inspector。 His target is Jerry Summers whose lifestyle exeeds his income。 The characters are interesting in a suspenceful way。 There are some good twists and turns that you will not prethink, some you will guess。 The book has multiply storylines going at once but he knows how to keep them straight and flowing。 Archer is a great storyteller who will entangle all the storie 。This book was gripping from the start。 You have William Warrich who has worked his way up and recently promoted to Detective Inspector。 His target is Jerry Summers whose lifestyle exeeds his income。 The characters are interesting in a suspenceful way。 There are some good twists and turns that you will not prethink, some you will guess。 The book has multiply storylines going at once but he knows how to keep them straight and flowing。 Archer is a great storyteller who will entangle all the stories without boredom。 This is book number three in the series but can be read as a stand alone book。 This plot moves quickly。 。。。more

This was better than #2 but still a fair way short of vintage Archer。 A short read with a less believable plot but still a reasonable 'story'。 I'm hanging in there but some of the gloss has definitely fallen away of late。 This was better than #2 but still a fair way short of vintage Archer。 A short read with a less believable plot but still a reasonable 'story'。 I'm hanging in there but some of the gloss has definitely fallen away of late。 。。。more

Maddie Erskine,
As always, Jeffrey Archer tells a wonderful story, and the third book in the Warwick series is no exception。 I did think however, that William was too naive to be an inspector in this book, it really annoyed me that he didn’t check out the body for the funeral in the early stages of the book ( trying to avoid specific spoilers) which I thought would have been an obvious thing to do。 However, the book continued to hold me engrossed with previous characters, who, thanks to J Archer, felt as if I k As always, Jeffrey Archer tells a wonderful story, and the third book in the Warwick series is no exception。 I did think however, that William was too naive to be an inspector in this book, it really annoyed me that he didn’t check out the body for the funeral in the early stages of the book ( trying to avoid specific spoilers) which I thought would have been an obvious thing to do。 However, the book continued to hold me engrossed with previous characters, who, thanks to J Archer, felt as if I knew them well。 Looking forward to book 4 now。 。。。more

If you want a engaging, complicated, realistic plot and right amount of suspense, then you definitely in the right place。 Yes, Turn a Blind Eye by Jeffrey Archer meant to be the thriller you are looking for。 William Warwick the main character from Clifton Chronicles, has been leading a team to investigate the corrupt officer Jerry Summers, who seem to spend more than his position would ever earn。 Parallelly, storyline looks into the trail of Assem Rashidi, a drug lord represented by William's d If you want a engaging, complicated, realistic plot and right amount of suspense, then you definitely in the right place。 Yes, Turn a Blind Eye by Jeffrey Archer meant to be the thriller you are looking for。 William Warwick the main character from Clifton Chronicles, has been leading a team to investigate the corrupt officer Jerry Summers, who seem to spend more than his position would ever earn。 Parallelly, storyline looks into the trail of Assem Rashidi, a drug lord represented by William's dad and sister。 Then a plot reveal of Miles Faulkner who was thought to be dead, isn't dead at all。 It opens the plot to many questions who is telling the truth? who to trust? what does Bruce Lamont's role got to do with the trail? Did Nicky bail out on Warwick with Summer ? Will Christina's secret lead her to trouble? It is most descriptive when it comes to the story narration be it either court drama, romance and police investigation。 This is a power packed thriller relatively engaging in almost every page of it。 The story line is familiar to what all goes in a secret police investigation, notorious drug lord, corrupt officer, compromised asset。 But it provides enough new and different nuances with certain developments which keeps the reader engaged。 The characters actions are sometimes predictable, but nevertheless the author's narration style and voice keeps the story buoyant。 The figurative language is interesting and makes it delightful to re-read。 Overall, you find it similar to that of any police investigation of the crime, but still it feels fresh。 This checks all the boxes of engaging plot, interesting characters, enchanting read。 I rate 4。5, definitely a captivating one。 。 。。。more

Warwick to the rescueWhat can be better than sitting down with a Jeffrey Archer novel? It is like spending time with an old friend。 Characters you can really warm to, others you hate with a vengeance, good plots and twists in the tale (sorry!) all result in an enjoyable read。 I am glad that the author saw the possibility of a crime series based on a detective introduced in novels written by the lead character in The Clifton Chonicles。 A fictional fictional character。Enjoyable reading once again, Warwick to the rescueWhat can be better than sitting down with a Jeffrey Archer novel? Turn a Blind Eye by Jeffrey Archer is the third book in the William Warwick series。 The author, Jeffrey Archer, is not a new author to me。 I read a couple of early books by him many years ago including Cain and Abel。 I renewed my interest in Archer’s work with the Clifton Chronicles (seven books in the series)。 William Warwick, now Detective Inspector Warwick, is charged with finding corruption in the police department appeared in the last installment of the Clifton Chronicles。This book could be Turn a Blind Eye by Jeffrey Archer is the third book in the William Warwick series。 The author, Jeffrey Archer, is not a new author to me。 I read a couple of early books by him many years ago including Cain and Abel。 I renewed my interest in Archer’s work with the Clifton Chronicles (seven books in the series)。 William Warwick, now Detective Inspector Warwick, is charged with finding corruption in the police department appeared in the last installment of the Clifton Chronicles。This book could be read as a stand alone, but I think it would be much more enjoyable if the reader has met the characters in the first two books。 Most of the characters are back。 Sir Julian and daughter Grace (William’s father and sister) are representing The Crown in the Assem Rashidi case。 Booth Watson is back as the defendant’s lawyer。 Miles Faulkner, William’s nemesis seems to have died of a heart attack。 Christine, Faulkner’s ex-wife and friend of William’s wife, Beth, has inherited all of Mile’s paintings。 There are lots of new characters to meet in the book。 The plot moves quickly and there are lots of twists and turns for the reader。 I really enjoyed the book。 There were some twists I figured out before mentioned and others I did not。 I do feel that the close interactions between Beth and William and William and his father and sister were lacking。 Hoping we see more in their personal lives in the next book in the series。 The reader is also left with a cliffhanger。 Guess I need to wait patiently for the next book。My thanks to St。 Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this book。 The opinions in this review are my own。 。。。more

How disdainful to read a book which is nothing more than a filler, from someone like JA。 When I first heard of the WW series, I was ecstatic。 The Clifton chronicles were such a treat! However my joy was premature, as clearly the ‘series’ is but a vast story broken down into slim books。 Nothing gripping about the book, 3-4 tepid storylines。 Two courtroom scenes and an auction。 And none as hooking as his storyline’s generally are。 And the lawyers continue to ‘tug at their lapels’ and adjust their w How disdainful to read a book which is nothing more than a filler, from someone like JA。 When I first heard of the WW series, I was ecstatic。 The Clifton chronicles were such a treat! However my joy was premature, as clearly the ‘series’ is but a vast story broken down into slim books。 Nothing gripping about the book, 3-4 tepid storylines。 Two courtroom scenes and an auction。 And none as hooking as his storyline’s generally are。 And the lawyers continue to ‘tug at their lapels’ and adjust their wigs, and pompous British characters。 Same old。 It’s getting boring now。 Gosh, so disappointed。Archer needs to stop dishing out such rags。 And don’t believe the 5 star reviews in exchange of free books。 。。。more

William Warwick is a great character who continues to grow under the masterful hand of author Jeffrey Archer。 So many different levels of stories are presented, but they are tied together masterfully as Archer polishes plots, characters, and settings to splendid shine。 I received an advanced digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review

Once again Mr Archer weaves a perfect story worthy of it’s predecessors。 Turn a blind eye comes with more twists and turns as Detective Warwick pursues his job with more austerity。
Nick Sanders,
Another new book in the series with Detective William Warwick。 A good read, but perhaps the author is tiring a bit from his own characters。 It seems a bit listless, a tiny bit formulaic。 Still, worth the trouble to read it。
